This is a lovely memorial to a thirteen year old. It is crafted of unmarked but tested 18 carat gold, and the shank is substantial in size. We have a dome shaped bezel covering beautiful, painted blond hair, and a blue verre eglomise (blue glass) disk containing the scribe "M" in gold. The bezel measures a little over 3/4 of an inch long, and 1/2 an inch wide. On the back is inscribed "M E Mitchell ob 27 June 1797 AE 13. The ring is a size 7 to 7 and 1/4, and is a very sturdy, wearable piece, though it should not be immersed in water. The ring weighs 5.1 grams. The ring is in excellent condition. It actually good be turned the other way and have a scribe of "W," thought we know the loved one's first and last name started with an "M". These pieces are getting harder and harder to find. Soon, they will only be available in museums.
