This is small but amazing! It is a circa 1870, watch fob/ seal that is gold cased (The Victorian term for our gold plated), with a sardonyx seal with an amazing sentiment. It was very hard to photograph, but I think I got a photo which shows the intaglio. It features a porcupine, and an insect, most likely a fly, heading towards the porcupine, and the French word "Adieu,," which or course appropriately means goodbye, at the top. The seal is in excellent condition, and easy to read, especially with magnification. There is no wear to the gold plating. This is an amazing and unique piece of Victorian. It would be perfect on a charm bracelet, or in a fob collection. Note: The fob appears bent in the photo; that is most likely from the position I had it in while taking the photo. I have added two more photos, which I do not seem to be able to make the primary image now. If the fob is bent, it is very slight and only noticeable when standing straight up.
