This is such a beautiful ring, and it was hard to photograph in a formal setting. The photos always show up better when the ring is on the finger, so be sure to look at that photo, where the sun has caught the stones with the ring on my finger, and the pink fire of the stones is more visible. This ring is circa 1790, and is in excellent condition. The stones are closed backed and foiled as they would have been in that period. The ring is a size 6 , but it could be resized by someone who is used to working with antique jewelry. It weighs 1.5 grams.. The top of the ring, with the stones, measures 3/8 of an inch North to South, and 1/2 of an inch East to West. I love garnets; especially the early, flat cut ones, and this one is a lovely example of Georgian, flat cut garnets.
