I love the early Giardinetti (Little Garden) rings, and I especially love them when they have some color, as this one has. The real thing is getting harder and harder to find, and I always buy them when I can. I have one in my personal collection which I've had for many years. This one has a sturdy construction, and a nice split shank. It contains 4 rubies, and several rose cut diamonds. I personally love the bow motif at the bottom, holding the flowers. The "garden " portion of the ring measures a little over an inch North to South, and 1 inch and 3/8 East to West. This circa 1780 ring is in excellent condition, and is a size 6 .and 1/2.. It weighs 3.3 grams, and It could be resized by someone used to working with antique jewelry. This is a lovely feminine piece with which to grace a lady's finger.
