This is a lovely piece of history. It's a very nice, deep yellow topaz, set in unmarked but tested 18 carat gold. The topaz is set with a closed basket baked setting. The stone is foiled, and the stone, while we can not measure antique stones by today's standard's, is about a 3 carat stone in size. The setting is a lovely one, with a nice basket backed setting. The stone is in very good condition, but there is some damage to the back of the setting. There is a small hole, where apparently, the ring was worn with another ring. This place shows up in the photo, though keep in mind the photo is magnified, and the damage does not take away from the beauty of the ring. The ring weighs 2.9 grams, and it is circa 1760. This is ring is in great condition for its age. It is very sturdy and wearable.. It is a size 6 and 3/4.
