I am always amazed when I find pieces of this age, in England, in such good shape. I wonder about the craftsmanship involved at a time when tools were very primitive. This ring, 1st to 2nd Century, is crafted of silver, which I have left quite dirty. Of course, it is unmarked, but tested. It contains a hardstone cameo, depicting a bull. This piece comes from a well established antique dealer in London. He is an authority of early pieces like this, and I trust his judgment in dating these early pieces. On the sizer, this ring sizes 2 and 3/4, but these old rings aren't exactly round, and this ring fits my little finger, more like a 3 or 3 and 1/4.It weighs 3.2 grams, and is in very good condition. The detail of the bull is is amazing. This is a good chance to get an amazing piece of history for a very reasonable sum.
