This is a very interesting hard stone cameo ring which features two faces--a man and a woman. The setting is unmarked, but tested 14 carat. The ring is circa 1770, and is in excellent condition, though there is some indication that the shank may not be original. However, all is very secure and sturdy. The two faces sit on the brown stone base, but the faces are a lovely white and coral color. I do wish they could talk and tell me who they were. At any rate, the ring is a size 7 and 3/4 to 8, depending on which way it is turned on the sizer. The ring is set in unmarked, but tested 14 carat gold, and it weighs 5.4 grams. The portion of the ring containing the cameo measures 3/4 of an inch North to South, and about 5/8 of an inch East to West. It is a distinctive piece of jewelry that is sure to be noticed.
