This is a beautiful, striking ring. It features 9 almandine garnets, but their foiling makes them appear a lovely, bright pink. The ring is circa 1820, and in very good condition. It is hard to judge the size because, like so many antique rings, if you face it to the front on the sizer, it reads 6 and 3/4, but if you turn it around with the back of the ring on the sizer, it reads 7 and 3/4. I think Size 7 is the most accurate, according to the way it fits my finger, though it could be sized by someone used to working with antique jewelry. It is crafted of 18 carat gold (unmarked but tested), and has closed backed settings. The ring weighs 2.3 grams, and measures 6/8 of an inch North to South, and 3/8 of an inch East to West. If you like pink, this is the ring for you, and be sure to look at the photo of the ring on my finger, because that shows the color the most like it is.
