This is a beauty. I always buy these circa 1820 French Heart pieces when I see them. I have a diamond one and a paste one already on the site, but this one has more sparkly diamond power than any I have seen. The center diamond is very impressive. Of course I can't say how many carats it weighs , as it would have to be removed to do that, but I would guess it is about the same size as a modern 3/4 of a carat diamond. The diamonds are set in silver and closed backed as they were at this time, and the piece weighs 9.3 grams, and measures a little over 1 and 1/2 inches long, and 1 and 1/8 inches wide. I struggled with adding this one because I wanted to keep it. I decided though, to be more practical, as I have another buying trip coming up soon.
