What a beauty this one is. I might well have kept it for myself, except I have a lovely , shaped, pansy brooch. Still, I really love this one. It is crafted of 15 carat, un marked but tested (it actually tested 16 carat). I would say is it circa 1850-60, It looks like it is two color gold. There is a lovely pansy on top of the heart, with four amethyst and two crystals. The back of the locket had a glass bezel with lovely hair work. As most of you probably know, the term pansy, comes from the French sense, which means to think of, or "Think of me." Quite a lot of lovely pansy jewelry was crafted and given to friends and loved ones. This is a particularly lovely example. It weighs 61 grams.
