This is another lovely silver (sterling) tablespoon that I was able to purchase on my last shopping trip to England . It is in amazingly good shape for its age. It is fully hallmarked, and the marks declare that the spoon is English Silver (sterling), minted in London, in the year 1746 . The spoon measures 8 and 1/8 inches long, and 1 and 3/4 inch at the widest point in the bowl, and it weighs 79.38 grams (2.8 ounces). The end of the handle turns up, and it has an interesting design on the back, but no monogram. This is a very usable , 269 year old piece of history, which has certainly aged well.
