This is a classic ring that I couldn't resist. It's a navette shaped hair ring which has, on top of the hair, one celluloid banner which reads "Souvenir" (memory), and another with the scribe, "ABS." This ring measures 1 and 1/4 inches North to South, and 6/8 of an inch East to West. One of the nicest features of this piece is its beautiful pearl surround. They are natural pearls, and all appear to be original. The pearls symbolized tears, and some of the pearls are a darker grayish color. This ring is a size 6 and 1/2 to 7, but it could be sized. It is circa 1790, and in excellent condition. Note: I am adding photos with the ring on my finger, and I am not cropping because customers often ask for a photo of this sort so they can see the dimensions of the ring on a finger. To see this properly, one will have to use the arrows on the computer to scroll down to see the full photo of a finger wearing the ring.
