What a darling little child this one is. I bought it from a dealer friend who had opened it up to clean the glass, and discovered that a little place near the child's lip, was a little fossil in the glass, or crystal. This leads me to believe the frame may be older than the miniature, which is circa 1900. Perhaps not though, because the painting looks like it has always been in this frame. The paste and silver, pendant frame is lovely, and the details of the child's lacework are outstanding. The back contains a locket with glass where another picture or lock of hair could be placed. This pendant measures 2 inches, North to South (including bail), and 3/4 of an inch East to West. There is no damage to this lovely piece of art.
