This is a beautiful piece, which exemplifies that which is best in Victorian jewelry, I think. It's s lovely, 18 ct locket, encrusted with seed pearls. The back opens, and one could place a picture or lock of hair there. There is glass which covers the opening. Actually, the word "locket" does not describe the unique features of this piece of art. It measures an little over 2 inches North to South, and 6/8 of an inch East to West. This one is sure to be noticed; there is no damage to the locket. It is circa 1880.
