This is a very interesting, gray agate watch fob/seal. It is circa 1800, and it measures 1 inch and 1/2 tall, and it weighs 9.17 grams. The intaglio is very interesting. There is a scribe which appears to be EH, and what appears to be a hand holding something that looks shiny. I can't make out all the words: I did find "Virtue Nobilitat," and I can't make out the first word. Maybe some of you can help! The peace is in excellent condition. Note: A Ruby Lane Viewer has solved the mystery for me. This appears to be the family crest of Clan Henderson, a Scottish family whose Clan head, now lives in Brisbane, Australia. Apparently this is their family crest and it's Sola Virtus Nobilitat.. the Henderson clan motto, which translated from the Latin means Virtue Alone Ennobles or Virtue Alone is Nobility. Obviously this belonged to a member of the Henderson clan. I'd love to find a member of the clan to show this too, but found no email addresses, though I did find a Clan Henderson website. Very interesting.
