This is a wonderful tribute to Queen Victoria, and it was commissioned just after her death by Mappin Brothers. The artist is M. Geflowski, and both names are on the back of the base of the bust. She is beautifully crafted in every way, with Victoria RI carved on the base of the front of the piece. The bust itself is about 8 inches tall, and about 8 inches wide at the shoulders. The piece rests on its ebonized wooden stand, so the bust, when on the stand, measures 12 and 1/2 inches tall. What a special and imposing piece this would be to grace a marble topped table in a Victorian in a Victorian parlor. If you are interested in this piece, please view all six photos.
