This is a beautiful little, Mother-of-Pearl, Stamp Book, circa 1840, which is when the first British postage stamp was issued. The piece is in excellent condition, with a red morocco spine and gold tooling, and red moire lining which appears original. This can't have been used very much. It measures 1 and 1/2 inches North to South, and about the same East to West. Inside, there are little pockets , on both sides, where a few stamps could be placed. This would be great for any stamp collector, or lovely to grace any desk.
