This is a lovely gold , 10 k brooch which features a sepia miniature painting of a Georgian lady, with the dog at her feet. I think this one is a mourning piece, because the dog symbolizes fidelity. The weeping willow, with ground hair, is overhead, and the lady looks quite pensive. The brooch is in excellent condition, navette shaped, measuring 1 inch and 1/4 inch North to South, and 5/8 of an inch, East to West. The back of the brooch still retains its "c" clasp and "t" hinge. The initials on the back are "W L," I think. Note: There is no discoloration on the back of the piece; please excuse my shadow on the gold.
