What a wonderful prayerbook this is. I must admit I am partial to the red morocco covers! They seem to hold up so well. This one is dated 1825, and it is in excellent condition. There is gold tooling on the front, back, and spine, and the pages are gilded. It has a lovely red leather piece inside which reads, with gold tooled letters, "Miss SM Edmonds, The gift of her Godmamma, Dec 12, 1826. I've never seen this sort of gift enclosure before. This volume, measuring 4 inches North to South, 2 and 1/2 inches East to West, and 1 inch thick, also includes the psalms.
