This is a nice two volume set, entitled "Half Hours With The Best Authors." It was published in 1870, in London, and edited by Charles Knight. The spines and corners are leather, the board is marbled, as are the fronts and ends pieces, and the edges of the pages--all to match. This anthology is exactly what it purports to be--a selection of writing by the best authors, or those whom Knight considered the best in 1870. The books are in very good condition, with tight binding and pages, though there is some rubbing of the paper on the boards. Each volume measures 8 and 1/1 inches long, 5 and 1/2 inches wide, and 1 and 1/4 inches deep.
