What a wonderful "tree" binding (full calf leather) this one is. It's South With Scott, by Captain Edward Evans. The book itself isn't date, but the last printing listed in 1924, and there is a prize inscription inside for 1928. The preface of the books tells us that "the object of this book is to keep alive the interest of English -speaking people in the story of Scott and his little band of sailor-adventurers, scientific companions, and explorers." It is full of interesting pictures , and there are three maps. The front, back, and spine are gold tooled, and the book is in excellent condition. It measures 7 and 1/2 inches North to South, 5 and 1/4 inches East to West, and is 1 and 1/2 inches thick.
