This is a very nice silver brooch, Victorian, with a hair pocket with hair on the back. The front of the piece is embossed with flowers, most likely forget-me-nots. The original "c" clasp and "t" hinge is still present. Also, the hallmarks are clear and present, and declare this piece to be British Sterling silver, minted in Birmingham, in the year 1890, by the maker, "J.C." This round brooch measures 1 inch and 3/8 in diameter, and is in excellent condition. This is most likely a sentimental piece, rather than a memorial .
