This is a lovely little piece, circa 1880. It is 14 carat gold,(unmarked but tested) and consists of several natural seed pearls, and two aquamarines. There are even little seed pearls on the bale. This beautiful piece can be worn as a brooch , or a pendant. The pin part, while original, is not gold but a base metal. This was often done in Victorian times, because the material they wore was stiff, and gold pins were soft and would bend. The piece measures 1 and 3/4 inches North to South, and 7/8 of an inch East to West, and it weighs 2.64 grams. I particularly like the lines of this lavalier; the curves make it appear very delicate and feminine.
