I have never done a lot of crystal buying, but I was captivated by this wonderful, Baccarat Crystal Box. I bought it in Paris, and the dealer was very professional and knowledgeable. Of course it isn't signed, as Baccarat didn't sign their work until after 1936, but it is definitely early Baccarat (Napoleon III Empire), circa 1850-60. It is in excellent condition with no chips, and there are three pieces. it has a tightly fitting inner top, so I supposed it could have been a humidor, a sugar canister, or even a tea caddy. It measures 5 and 1/2 inches tall and the bottom, including the brass circle, is 4 inches in diameter. What an elegant piece this is.
