This is another beautiful example of the lovely Cannetille Gold work of the 1820's. Here we have a almondine garnet cross. It is gold, though I'm not sure of the weight, and features five lovely garnets, surrounded by four crystals, The garnets are accented by three Persian turquoise surrounding each garnet. The back is as lovely as the front , The stones are foiled, and closed backed and the beautiful beading of the Cannetille goldwork completes the special touches to this wonderful brooch/pendant. It still retains the original pin with "c' clasp and "t" hinge, and the piece, which measures 1 and 1/2 inches North to South, and 1 and 1/2 inches East to West, is in excellent condition.
