I love these early enamel boxes; especially when they have a sentiment. This one proclaims "From a Friend." it is circa 1800, and it is wonderful condition for its 222 years. It has never had a mirror, so it was probably for snuff. I have a small collection of these with a mourning theme, but Lord help me, if I start another collection, it will be of these boxes! This one measures 1 and 1/2 inches, North to South, an inch and a half East to West, and is 1 inch tall.
