This is a beautiful, rose cut diamond cross, circa 1820. The stones are closed backed, set in silver, and the entire piece has a gold wash on the back. I started counting the diamonds until I realized that the eleven larger stones (not counting those in the bale) were surrounded by diamond chips. This is a wonderful, very sparkly piece. It measures 2 inches North to South, and 1 inch and 1/4 East to West. The piece weighs 8.32 grams. This wonderful cross would be a lovely addition to any antique jewelry collection.
