This is. a lovely Halley's Comet Brooch, circa 1835 The stone is a Citrine, and it is fashioned from unmarked but tested 10 carat gold, Many of you may know that the Victorians were very excited to observe the Halley's Comet, and they celebrated by fashioning jewelry, which was most in the form of a brooch, It weighs 6.08 grams. The stone is open backed, and the pin is actually long, and part of the comet. It is all original. It measures 1 and 3/4 inches East to West, and 3/4 of an inch North to South, including the pin. Halley's Comet appears every 75 years.
