I love these wonderful, silver ring boxes. I have one I have kept for myself and I don't see them often. This one is special, because it's the only one I have ever seen with fittings for rings (4), and a small brooch, or pendant. It is simple in design, with the beautiful curves of the art nouveau period, and it is in excellent condition with no dents or noticeable scratches. It measures 3 and 3/8 inches East to West, and 2 and 1/2 inches North to South. I have tried to weigh it, and I guess it's too heavy for my jewelery scales, and that's not working. It does feel fairly heavy for a piece like this one. The bottom of the box is leather, which is still in good condition, and the sides, top, etc, are all English silver. The hallmarks are visible and declare that this piece is British Sterling, minted in the year 1906. The city mark is not clear. Also, this lovely piece has gilt on the inside, and do many boxes, such as pill boxes, etc. This would be a lovely addition to m'lady's dressing table.
