This is the only tartan dip pen I've ever seen. It does not have the name of the tartan on the paper; there is no paper loss. The bottom part of the pen, where the nib is attached, may well be sterling silver. There does appear to be a silver hall mark, but it is worn and I can not make out the particulars. The pen is circa 1880, and measures 7 and 1/2 inches long.
