This is a lovely full calf leather volume of Astronomy and General Physics By William Whewell. It was published in London by William Pickering in 1847. The volume has marbled fronts and end piece and marbled pages. It has gold tooling on the Spine, and it is in wonderful condition for it's almost 200 years old. The leather boards are not faded and all pages are tight and present. It's really hard to find a book this old in such good shape. I only find them like this in London. This volume also has a nice presentation bookplate. The book measures 6 and 1/2 by 4 and 1/4 by 1 inch. This would be a lovely addition to any antique book collection, or collection of books dealing with Science.
