This is a beautiful, full calf leather edition of the works of John Milton. This one is also a prize edition, and these are collectible in their own right. Imagine going to a private school where prizes of leather bound books with the school's emblem tooled in gold, were given as prizes for high performance! This volume was a gift from Queen Elizabeth's School for Girls, and it was published by Oxtord University Press in 1908. It has the prize bookplate, and beautiful marbled fronts and ends pieces. The book is in excellent condition with tooled spine and engraving of Milton. The volume measures 7 and 1/2 inches North to South, 5 inches East to West, and is 1 and 1/4 inches thick. The ends of the pages are also marbled, to match the inside. This one is a real beauty!
