What a beautiful book this is. Each time that I buy these books in London, I am haunted by the fact that when these are gone, there will be no more. I think there are book binders there who can create such beauty, but it would be cost prohibitive today. The best we seem to have to compare is those ordered from Eastman Press, and there is no comparison. This lovely volume is full, brown, morocco, with lovely gold tooled flowers on the front and back covers. The spine is also tooled in gold, and there is a nice plate of Tennyson's portrait just opposite the date page. The date page tells us that this book was published in London, by Macmillan and Co., in 1894. There is also a gift inscription dated 1894 written on the inside page. The book , also has gilded pages, and is in excellent condition for its age, There is a small bit of rubbed leather at the edge of the binding, but it is very insignificant. The book measures 7 and 1/2 inches North to South, and 5 and 1/4 inches East to West.
