This is a very large and beautiful set of the poetry of Robert Burns, who was called the National Poet of Scotland. I can find no dates in this two volume edition, but it is certainly Victorian, circa 1860 to 1880. It is edited by the Rev Gilfillan, and it contains all the works of Burns, including songs, notes of the poet's life , and many Steel Engravings. The set is bound i a lovely blue cloth board, with leather spine and corners. The boards contain a beautiful, embossed pattern. The title is tooled in gold on the Spine. The books are in excellent condition, and have marbled ends and fronts pieces. They are large, each measuring 10 inches North to South, 8 inches East to West, and are and 1/2 inches thick. This set is a must for the Burns collector.
