This is a beautiful volume in excellent condition. I generally think of Hardy as a Victorian novelist, but I once read that he preferred being considered a poet. At any rate this lovely book was published in London, in 1922, and is a first edition. The spine and corners are a vibrant green leather, and the cloth board is a green print. This book has been kept in such good condition by the matching dust box, which has matching green print top and bottom. Usually these boxes are torn up, but this dust box is even in excellent condition. This volume is an excellent choice for book collectors, It measures 8 inches North to South, 5 inches East to West, and is 1 and 1/4 inches thick.
