This is a beautiful Victorian volume of The Complete Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson. It is beautifully bound in what is generally called tree calf (leather). I suppose it's called that because this type of leather binding resembles a tree in design. The binding is in excellent condition, and the front, back, and spine is tooled in gold, and ends of the pages are gilded. There is a nice plate of the author inside and the frontispiece, and back pages are lovely marbled paper. There is also a silk ribbon for marking the page. This volume measures 8 inches North to South, and 5 inches East to West, and it was published in London by Macmillan and Co, in the year 1899.
