Of all the stones found in Scottish "pebble" jewelry, Malachite is my favorite. I love the bright "apple" green. This is a lovely brooch set in silver, unmarked but tested sterling. I love the scallops and the silver work. It also has a bale so it could be worn as a pendant. It is 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter, and weighs 10.76 grams. So pretty, and so Victorian. It is circa 1880.
