This is one of the nicest watch boxes I have ever seen. The watch seen goes with the box; I was told it was "rubbish," and I haven't tried to have it repaired, but it is silver, because it's hallmarked as such, so I'm sure it's worth something. It also has one of those beautiful enamel faces of which I'm so fond. Anyway, the box is wood with Mother-of-Pearl cameo and beading. When one opens the box, a nice stand for the watch pops up. The box doesn't show its age at all except that the silk lining is worn on the inside. What an unusual, circa 1890, piece this is.
