This is a very nice silhouette of a lady, which appears to be painted, with highlights with a paint that sparkles when the piece is held just right. The details, even to the ruffles of her blouse, are outstanding , and there is no damage to the piece. The silhouette is framed in the original frame, and all is in excellent condition, except there is a small crack in the frame, left, which is tight, and may well be a seam, At any rate, it does not detract from this circa 1850's piece. Framed, the silhouette measures 5 and 3/4 inches North to South, and a little under 5 inches East to West.
