This is a beautiful, Georgian diamond ring. I fell is love with the graceful shape. The rose cut diamonds are set in silver, and the back is closed and gold. The shank is very interesting. The band is serpentine, with a split shank. and there is a hallmark on the side,, which shows up in the photo. I believe this to be the French mark, though I've never seen very many French marks in gold. As it's marked on the shank, it may well have been marked after its construction, as this is unusual to see a mark on a circa 1790's ring. This one came from a private collection, and looks beautiful on the finger. There are 9 rose cut diamonds, and the decorated top of the ring measures 1/2 inch, North to South, and 3/4 o an inch East to West. It is a size 6 and 1/2 to 7, though it is one of those that is very hard to size on the sizer, because it's one size on the front, and one on the back. Judging by the way it fits my finger, and the way it fits the sizer from the front, it is a size 7.
