This is a lovely ruby and crysolite cluster, ca 1845. I love everything about this ring, including the wonderful split shank. There has, most likely, been a hair pocket in the back of this ring. The empty pocket is there, but there is no glass. I'm not certain of the weight of the gold, but it is either 15 or 18 carat. It is a size 8, but it could be resized. The decorated top of the ring measures 1/2 inch North to South, and about the same, East to West.
