This is a very unique ring. It is crafted of 18 ct gold, and contains two glass covered lockets with the hair of two individuals, one dark, and one light. I don't think this is a mourning ring, as there is no black enamel or mourning motif. I think it is a sentimental ring, and it contains, perhaps, the hair of an engaged or married couple. The back of the ring has, inscribed, the initials "VG and "KG.: The ring is a size 5 to 5 and 1/4. It could be sized by a jeweler who is used to working with antique jewelry. It weighs 2.76 grams. It is in excellent condition, and is circa 1800.
