This is a lovely memorial ring in immaculate condition. It features a bed of human hair which looks blond with maybe streaks of gray. Then , on top of the hair, ringed with a gold circle, is an urn, painted with sepia paint, and surrounded by a weeping willow branch of macerated dark human hair. Around the top of the ring, is black enamel, with the words, written in gold, Ann Nash, ob 16th Sept 1786 AE 73. The shank of the ring is also in black enamel, and around the shank is written Wm Nash, ob 16th of May, 1782 AET 79. My guess is that this was a ring commissioned by an adult child in memory of his/her parents. The ring is a size 6 and 3/4 to 7 . I can not be sized. It is crafted of unmarked but tested 18 carat gold, and the ring weighs 4.23 grams. It is very difficult to find rings of this age with the enamel in as good condition as this one is
