This is a very nice , circa 1840, ruby cluster ring. It is in excellent condition, save for the glass panel on the back of the ring which would have held a lock of hair. The glass back is missing. The ring contains 9 rubies, which are in a closed backed setting. The ring has a lovely split shank, and a beautifully scrolled band. It is crafted of unmarked but tested 16 carat gold. The ring is a size 6 and 3/4, and it weighs 3.12 grams. The top of the ring with the rubies measures a little over 2/2 inch North to South, and about 5/8 of an inch East to West.
