This is beautiful turquoise and pearl hair ring. I'm not calling it a mourning ring, though it could be, but as there's no engraving, I'm more inclined to think it is a sentimental ring. It is circa 1850, and crafted of 18 carat gold. The shank is absolutely beautiful, which a gold forget-me-not on each shoulder. There is a lovely persian turquoise surround, and then a pearl surround. The ring is a size 7 and 3/4, but could be sized by someone used to working with fine antique jewelry. The portion of the ring with the turquoise, pearls, and hair measures 1/2 inch North to South, and about the same East to West. The ring is in excellent condition, and it weighs 3.95 grams.
