This is a nice hair ring with a lovely cabochon garnet surround. The ring is a size 6 and 3/4, and it weighs 3.95 grams. There is some engraving on the back, though it is hard to make out. The ring has a lovely split shank, and the top of the ring measures just under 1/2 inch North to South, and almost 3/4 of an inch East to West. The garnets are beautiful, and the ring is in good condition. It looks lovely on the finger, but there is a problem. The ring is either a marriage of a Georgian lace pin, and another Georgian shank, or it has had the shank repaired. My guess it that it is a clever marriage, but that fact is reflected in the price. The fact remains that it is a Georgian ring, all of it, very wearable, and much cheaper than normal, due to the above mentioned facts.
