These are very nice seed pearl and natural pearl earrings, circa 1860. One sometimes finds large sets of this sort of jewelry, with necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc in fitted boxes, but most often, pieces have been separated over the years. The pearls are actually strung and sewn on a sort of form with holes for the thread. They have 14 carat gold wires. They are in very good condition, and very feminine. They measure 1 and 1/4 inches long, and 1/2 inch wide at the widest point. Both earrings together weigh 2.59 grams. Note: Please forgive the photo of the front of the earrings. I am traveling and have no earring tree. They appear to hang a little crooked, but they are straight.
