Wow, these are stunning! It's amazing how much more "real," and like diamonds Georgian paste looks than the real Georgian diamonds. Here we have a pair of paste earrings, and the backs are just as lovely as the front. I was told by the English dealer who sold these to me, that they most likely started life as some sort of clip, maybe for a belt or piece of jewelry. At some time, however, they were made into lovely earrings. They measure 2 and 1/8 of an inch long (including the small part of wire that would hang down from the front), and 7/8 of an inch wide. They weigh 23.33 grams together, and of course 1/2 that each. These are a nice, substantial weight, but not too heavy for wearing. The silver is unmarked, but tested sterling. I have quite small ears with very small ear lobs, and they are comfortable in my ears. These would certainly dress up any holiday outfit.
