This is one of the nicest Georgian chains I have ever seen. It's rare to get one that measures 45 inches long. I imagine, in 1800 when this was new, it was meant to be 18 carat gold, but everyone I have tested with my digital tester tests 14 K, and that is the case with this one. It has wonderful, handmade links with a sort of Herringbone pattern, and the unusual thing about this chain, is that the clasp consists of gold pieces with the same pattern. The lengths measure 1/8 of an inch wide, and the chain weighs 41.72 grams. This is guaranteed to be an authentic Georgian piece. It feels light to the touch as the original ones do, and also, the pattern does not go through to the other side of the link as it would if the pattern were stamped instead of hand tooled. This is a striking piece, and is sure to catch the eye.
