Here is an example of the early straw--an invalid feeder whereby an invalid could be given soup, tea, or broth. This one is in excellent condition and, marked on the bottom, "Empire England . B 747.It has no chips, is circa 1900-1910 I would say, and measures 5 inches from the spout to the other end.
